MARY CIULLO is a fine art photographer based on Long Island and educated at The International Center of Photography in New York City.  Her work is focused on the natural world and its effect on us. How we see the planet, relate to it and allow it to touch us are all themes explored in her photographs.  Her curiosity in the environment, whether urban, suburban or rural is where she finds the quiet inspiration to capture her subject's fleeting moments and reveal the presence of their spirit, soul, grandeur, serene beauty or personal stream of consciousness. Her images, both figurative and abstract, captured through her unique eye, possess an energy that beckons the viewer to feel their emotive qualities.

Mary developed a compelling interest in photography early in life, however, that interest went unexpressed for years until she decided to pursue it professionally.  Since 2014, her work has been featured in over twenty-five juried group exhibitions, judged by such notable jurors as W. Allard, D. Burkholder, C. Minguez Carrasco, B. Erickson, S. Hermand-Grisel, A. Jastrab, L. Moya, A. Myerson, A. Overtoom, K. Rossow, A. Smithson, S. Spiritus, C. Tapp, L. Volpe, and D.H.Wells among others.

Her photographs have been exhibited nationally at Los Angeles' 1650 Gallery, Fort Collins' C4FAP Gallery, Middlebury's PhotoPlace Gallery and Essex Junction's Darkroom Gallery.  Having been awarded Darkroom Gallery's 'Master'designation in 2016, Ken Signorello notes, as a Master her work "...is consistently excellent photographic work that jurors repeatedly select due to content, concept, mastery of formal photographic elements and creative approach."

"Mary shows a deep passion and a human connection in all of her photography, something often lacking in a photographic art-world over-run by trends, concepts and glitziness," says David H. Wells, I.C.P. faculty member and publication photographer.
